There are very few places that I call anymore where a person actually answers the phone. When I call or email THIS agency, I know that I can connect to a person who is knowledgeable and has the expertise that I need to get that issue off my list quickly. These are people that I know that I can trust; within an agency that works together like a well oiled machine; within a company that I have great confidence in.

In my recent visit to their office to go over my policies in person, I found the same wonderful neighbor-like friendliness and thoroughness when explaining and reviewing every policy to make sure it was still covering my needs while maintaining my premiums at a reasonable level. When it comes to such important personal business as minimizing my risk exposure, this is the team that I want to have my back. I know they would advise the same thing for me personally as they would do for themselves."

"I want to start by giving credit where it is due: Michelle Christensen’s agency has always been professional, responsive, and pleasant to work with. We have been multi-policyholders since 2019 and have actively referred multiple family members and friends over the years. The local agency deserves 10+ stars!

However, the true test of any insurance provider isn't how they look when collecting your premiums—it’s what happens when you actually have to file a claim. On that note, State Farm has completely failed, hence the 1-star rating.

Within the last six to eight months, we filed two separate claims: a homeowners claim and a not-at-fault auto accident claim. In both instances, State Farm acted less like a "good neighbor" and more like an adversary. They consistently pushed back, delayed processing, denied justified payments, and flat-out argued without technical standing. They turned what should have been a standard resolution process into a miserable, drawn-out battle, despite the multiple chances we gave them to provide a fair resolution.

Ultimately, our experiences have exposed a severe inability—or explicit unwillingness—by State Farm to ethically and efficiently resolve claims. Because of this, we are looking for a new insurance provider and advising our referrals to start shopping around as well.

While Michelle Christensen’s local team deserves high marks for their customer service, State Farm's behind-the-scenes corporate claims handling is horrendous. Take our experiences as a warning: do not trust State Farm to be there like a “good neighbor” when it matters most."
